Ice Edge Coaches

 

Lee Smith :  Lee just completed his 25th season at Eden Prairie High School. From Willmar, Minnesota went on to play college hockey at Minnesota State, Mankato. During his coaching high school tenure, the Eagles have compiled a record of 467-194-34, have won eight Lake Conference Titles. In the playoffs, have played in 16 Section Finals and gone to the State Tournament nine times, and won two State Championships in 2009 and 2011. Voted Section 6 “Coach of the Year” nine times and eigh times “Coach of the Year” in the Lake Conference. Following the 2009 season, He was awarded the John Mariucci Award for being “Coach of the Year” in Class AA hockey. 

Joe Krmpotich : Playing Experience: Eden Prairie High School (98') Rochester Mustangs Jr A. (USHL) Iona College (D1) & St. Thomas University (D3) Captain Senior year .Current Coaching Experience: Eden Prairie High School,  Junior Varsity Head Coach & Varsity Assistant (14 years).Director (3 years) and Skills & Skating Instructor at Little Twigs Hockey Camp ( 19 years),  Director of Operations here at Ie Edge AAA Hockey (9 years), Eden Prairie STP coach, Past experience:  Eden Prairie Youth Hockey, Mite Player Development Coordinator (2007) 

 

Grace Olson-  Playing experience: Academy of Holy Angels High School (08') Gustavus Adolphus College (08'-12')
Coaching experience: Eden Prairie High School, Junior Varsity Head coach and Varsity Assistant. Eden Prairie Stp coach. Various MSHSL summer hockey camps, USA hockey developmental camps (15-17 years of age). Past Experience: Eastview hockey association U14 coach (2013)

 

Colleen Krmpotich - Colleen playing career- Holy Angels- 1 state championship.  Currently an assistant coach with the Shakopee Girls High School team.  Colleen is in her second year with Ice Edge. 

 

Josh Shingler-- a former resident Shawano, WI Josh brings a wealth of hockey and physical fitness knowledge to the Steel.  Josh grew up playing youth and midgets in Milwaukee, Green Bay, San Diego as well as Michigan. Following a successful u18 career Josh earned opportunities at the junior level. His first stop being in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and later went on to play for the Kenai River Brown Bears of the NAHL.  Proceeding his junior career Josh earned his way on to the Bethel University Hockey Team where he spent 4 years playing hockey and later graduated with a Biokenetics Degree. Using his Biokenetics degree Josh became an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Bethel as well an instructor for the Laura Stamm Power Skating School which he is still currently a member of. Josh joins the Steel following a coaching position with Roseville High School in Minnesota as well as being the Head on and off ice trainer for the Rocky Mountain Hockey Schools. Josh currently coaches at Eden Prairie High School Boys as an assistant coach and has been with Ice Edge and Little Twigs Hockey school for the past 3 years as a Instructor.
